Warranty and Damage Claims

Effective date: 19 September 2026

Luminaire Montréal is operated by Euro Style Design Inc. Lighting products may include a manufacturer warranty and may also be protected by legal warranties that cannot be excluded. This policy explains how we document and route claims.

Before installation

Inspect the product, finish, glass, components, model number, and quantity before installation. Do not install a product that appears damaged, incomplete, or different from the order. Photograph the carton label, packaging, product, and affected area before discarding any material.

Transit damage or incorrect product

Customers must inspect all cartons and, when reasonably possible, the product at delivery. Visible damage or missing cartons must be noted on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing and documented with photographs.

If concealed damage is found after unpacking, keep the product and packaging. Notify the carrier and Luminaire Montréal in writing as soon as possible, preferably on the day of delivery. Provide the order number, delivery receipt, photographs, and a video when helpful.

All products shipped by Luminaire Montréal are covered by transit insurance, subject to the carrier’s and insurer’s claim requirements. Customer cooperation and adequate proof are required to confirm the damage. Delayed or incomplete reporting may affect the claim. This procedure does not limit mandatory consumer rights.

Keep the product and all packaging until we provide instructions. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we may arrange replacement parts, a replacement product, repair, collection, or another remedy.

Manufacturer warranty claims

Unless another period is stated on the product page, invoice, manufacturer document, or warranty certificate, eligible lighting products include a one year written warranty beginning on the original delivery or pickup date. This written period does not replace or shorten a legal warranty.

Warranty periods and coverage vary by manufacturer and component. Proof of purchase, photographs, installation information, and troubleshooting details may be required. We may share relevant claim information with the manufacturer or service provider to assess and resolve the claim.

Manufacturer warranty coverage generally does not include normal wear, finish variation, glass variation, bulbs, damage caused by misuse, incorrect voltage, incompatible dimmers, improper installation, unauthorized modification, or conditions outside the product rating, unless the manufacturer or applicable law provides otherwise.

Professional installation

Lighting should be installed by a qualified professional according to the product instructions, electrical codes, and site conditions. Product dimensions, weight, mounting, driver compatibility, dimmer compatibility, and electrical box capacity should be confirmed before installation.

Legal warranties

Québec consumers benefit from legal warranties of quality, durability, conformity, and fitness that may apply regardless of a manufacturer warranty. Nothing in this policy limits those protections or any other mandatory right.

When a legal warranty applies, Luminaire Montréal will provide the remedy required by law. Customer charges will not be imposed for repair, replacement, collection, return, or other service that the law requires the merchant to provide without charge.
